Mission:

The Data Visualization Society fosters a community where every member benefits from resources that support growth, refinement, and expansion of data visualization knowledge regardless of expertise level.

Goals:

  • Advocate for a greater understanding of the usage and impact of data visualization practice across disciplines, industries, and use cases.

  • Collect, develop, and curate professional resources for members.

  • Foster an inclusive, diverse, and international community.

  • Remove barriers between practitioners across tools, industries, geographies, and borders.

  • Support open and shared projects that focus on the development of best practices for data visualization methods, general practice, and historical research.

  • Create spaces that provide meaningful opportunities to offer and receive guidance, input, and critique.

  • Foster connection between members by hosting a robust calendar of global and local events and initiatives, both in-person and online, to serve a wide range of member-led interest groups.

  • Create a long-term sustainable leadership and member-driven governance model.
